All the resources you need are available in Him.
The Kingdom of God is like two men who walked down to the beach. One wept, turned and walked away. The other waited patiently for the tide to turn.
I had an image of the tide as I was talking with God about resources this morning.
Resources is a word that is wrapped around the word source. It’s obvious that resources come from a source. What isn’t necessarily obvious is that:
‘Abba‘ the Hebrew word for Father also means source.
As I thought about the tide I thought how ignorant it would be to walk down to the beach whilst the sea was at low tide, and bemoan the lack of water. Can you imagine weeping and gnashing your teeth at the lack? The promise of the turning of the tide is obvious for those who are informed. The problem isn’t a lack of water, the influence of the moon on tides means that there is always the same amount of water, it just may be somewhere else at the moment, and that in due time, or season, it will be here.
As Christians we are ignorant and foolish when we claim that our Father doesn’t have the resources we need. The resources are always there, we simply have to press in to them in faith. At the time of writing this I’m astounded at the wealth of Elon Musk. It is estimated to be around $454,500 Million.
I did some quick maths (you’re welcome) and researched the GDP ( Gross Domestic Product) of nations. The lowest is Tuvalu with $62 Million in 2023 (according to the World Bank), it’s number 188, where the USA is number 1, on $27,360,935 Million. Starting from the bottom, I added the GDPs together and got all the way up to Lebanon, in 130th place. The total GDP of the lowest 58 or so countries in the world equals about $453,000 million. Let me be clear. If these 58 countries put their Gross Domestic Product together in one account, it would be less than what Elon has in his account.
I can get jealous of this, or rage against this, or I can recognise that that amount is in existence at all, and that when the tide changes, any resources can be distributed according to our Father’s desire.
I do, however, believe that there is a caveat. You have to be prepared to say, “Not my will, but yours be done Father”. This is a test of purity of heart. If you are unwilling to submit to your loving Heavenly Father, as Jesus did, then this exposes a desire that is not first and foremost orientated to the forwarding of God’s Kingdom, but your own.
The GPD figures are from this source – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal), I apologise if they incorrect, but I’m just trying to illustrate a point.
